This is the worst product imaginable

Ten years with Amazon: this is my 1st review. This is the worst product imaginable. OK, not THE worst, because it won't kill you in your sleep. You'll learn more about a PS4 from the blub below the WalMart flyer that advertises the PS4 for sale. I cannot imagine author "David Smith" is a real person, because by pedaling tripe such as this he surely has been banned by even the self-publishing houses. Save your money - just slap yourself in the head a few times and then try going at your PS4 again. Helps far more than this "guide".

Good way to learn about the PS4

I have always relied on my friends to tell me how to work stuff out on my consoles. I have the PS3 and most of what I know about it, I was taught by my friend Ethan. I now have the PS4 and I learnt everything about it on my own from this guide. This is great. I am also excited that I have the book to refer to whenever I forget something because I always forget. Awesome book!

A short and well written sequel to the Danny black book two.
We rarely seem to find out what happens to those fallen in action, but herein Chris Ryan writes a quick stand alone "epilogue", with all the fun and action of a complete novel, with a completely separate plot to the former novel, when Danny goes back on a solo "of the books"mission to rescue his mate, who was left behind on their previous mission
It is well written and certainly worth the hour or two that it will take to read... Highly recommended if your into the special ops world of lturature

About the Author
Raymond A. Serway (PhD, Illinois Institute of Technology) is Professor Emeritus at James Madison University. His honors and awards include an honorary doctorate degree from his alma mater, Utica College, the 1990 Madison Scholar Award at James Madison University, the Distinguished Teaching Award at Clarkson University in 1977, and the Alumni Achievement Award from Utica College in 1985. As Guest Scientist at the IBM Research Laboratory in Zurich, Switzerland, he worked with K. Alex Müller, 1987 Nobel Prize recipient. He was a visiting scientist at Argonne National Laboratory, where he collaborated with his mentor and friend, the late Sam Marshall. Dr. Serway is the coauthor of COLLEGE PHYSICS, Eleventh Edition; PHYSICS FOR SCIENTISTS AND ENGINEERS, Ninth Edition; PRINCIPLES OF PHYSICS, Fifth Edition; ESSENTIALS OF COLLEGE PHYSICS; MODERN PHYSICS, Third Edition; and the high school textbook PHYSICS, published by Holt McDougal. He has published more than 40 research papers in the field of condensed matter physics and has given more than 60 presentations at professional meetings.

John W. Jewett, Jr., earned his undergraduate degree in physics at Drexel University and his doctorate at Ohio State University, specializing in optical and magnetic properties of condensed matter. Dr. Jewett began his academic career at Richard Stockton College of New Jersey, where he taught from 1974 to 1984. He is currently Emeritus Professor of Physics at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona. Through his teaching career, Dr. Jewett has been active in promoting science education. In addition to receiving four National Science Foundation grants, he helped found and direct the Southern California Area Modern Physics Institute (SCAMPI) and Science IMPACT (Institute for Modern Pedagogy and Creative Teaching). Dr. Jewett's honors include the Stockton Merit Award at Richard Stockton College in 1980, selection as Outstanding Professor at California State Polytechnic University for 1991-1992, and the Excellence in Undergraduate Physics Teaching Award from the American Association of Physics Teachers (AAPT) in 1998. In 2010, he received an Alumni Lifetime Achievement Award from Drexel University in recognition of his contributions in physics education. He has given over 100 presentations both domestically and abroad, including multiple presentations at national meetings of the AAPT. Dr. Jewett is the author of THE WORLD OF PHYSICS: MYSTERIES, MAGIC, AND MYTH, which provides many connections between physics and everyday experiences. In addition to his work on PHYSICS FOR SCIENTISTS AND ENGINEERS, he is the coauthor for PRINCIPLES OF PHYSICS, Fifth Edition, as well as GLOBAL ISSUES, a four-volume set of instruction manuals in integrated science for high school. Dr. Jewett enjoys playing keyboard with his all-physicist band, traveling, and collecting antique quack medical devices that can be used as demonstration apparatus in physics lectures. They should not be allowed to call this a solutions manual

When I was trying to buy this on amazon, I thought I was buying a solutions manual, as stated in the title. Looking back in the description it says it only has 20% of the questions answered, but I did not see this. So if you are looking for a solutions manual DO NOT BUY THIS. For example chapter 2 in the actual textbook has 85 problems (counting end of chapter problems alone, not additional examples). This solution manual provides answers for 16 of those end of chapter problems. Yes, its solutions are helpful for those selected problems, but most of the problems it works out are odd numbers, which have the answers in the back of the book anyway. I have a solutions manual for my organic chemistry textbook and it has every single question worked out, cost the same amount as this book, and is only one volume. The fact that they could not even work out 16 problems of every chapter without trying to charge you more money baffles me. If you want to buy this for the "study guide" sure i guess. I don't know how helpful it would be, but maybe it would be for you.

to further prove how terrible this book is as a solutions manual here is the number of textbook questions / solutions answered in book for a couple more chapters:

CH 3: 85 / 13
CH 4: 89 / 17
CH 5: 104 / 20

I actually do not understand how they are legally allowed to sell this as a solutions manual.

The item came as described and on time. The only problem with the book is the book only explains selected questions. It did help my solve problems they were assigned but would be more beneficial if it included explanations to more questions.

The Cross is a very central theme in the Bible, and cannot be overemphasised by Jesus. Frances Roberts is able to unveil what many preachers have conveniently left aside because of its complicated applications. Many Christians have not understood what "rest" is, as evident by the many hurried activities and scurrying around to do "Christian work." Roberts, like Watchman Nee and Francis Frangipane, takes pains to make sure that the reader understands what his priority should be.
All three authors write in detail about the Cross, but Roberts gives the clearest and most vivid pictures of what is required of us by the Lord. He is so practical in his advice that it is hard to avoid the point he tries to bring across.
With major themes like stillness versus activity, confidence versus doubt, contentment versus outward achievement, holiness versus sacrifice, disentanglement versus involvement, no Christian attempting to know the heart of the Father should be without this book. It simple puts us on the right road when so much misconception exists about what Christianity is all about.

If you want a taste of Melville's brilliance, but aren't up to the task of slogging through 600+ pages of "Moby Dick," try "Benito Cereno" - a masterpiece of mystery, suspense and intrigue. But, as with Melville's white-whale classic, "BC" ultimately climbs the peaks and plumbs the depths of human spirit and human depravity on multiple levels while taking the reader down a twisting and puzzling path. That so much can be crammed into a "short story" (well, perhaps a novella) illustrates the author's true genius.

It is 1799, and an American sea Captain Amasa Delano has harbored at St. Maria island off the extreme southern coast of Chile to take on fresh water. Sighting a ship without colors on the horizon, Delano with a crew take the whale boat to investigate, finding a near-derelict Spanish slave ship drifting aimlessly on a calm sea. Upon boarding, Dalano finds the ship's captain, Benito Cerino, near death and the ship's human cargo - men, women, and children - unconstrained topside. Cerino is constantly tended to by "Babo," a young Spanish-speaking slave, who never leaves the captain's side, catering to his every wish - the extent that the ship's half-starved inhabitants can accommodate. Cerino tells Delano a harrowing tale of violent storms encountered after leaving Buenos Aires en route to Lima, rounding the Cape and encountering two months of deadly calm that made navigation impossible - drownings, scurvy, and lack of water decimated the crew. Delano finds Cerino's tale dubious, especially since so few of the Spanish crew have survived, taking a much lower toll on the slaves. More troubling is the relationship between Babo and Cerino, which Delano considers beyond odd. The trusting and possibly na�ve Delano silently questions Cerino's motives, and several times fears for his own life, each time to be subsequently placated, writing his fear off as mere paranoia induced by the freakish conditions on board the vessel. Tension builds, the enigma grows, and by now, the reader, puzzled by the contradictions, is undoubtedly tempted to jump ahead to see where Melville is taking us.

Melville's writing falls just short of epic poetry, and as such, "Benito Cerino" requires some work and concentration. Much of the jargon is unfamiliar nautical terms or 19th century prose that is now archaic. But the diligent reader will be rewarded with beautiful prose than spins a surprisingly surrealistic atmosphere - an authentic portrait of life at sea at the turn of the 18th century while capturing the period's views of race and slavery. Melville never preaches or cajoles, is never heavy handed, but instead weaves complex relationships and cultural issues so deeply in the fabric that multiple reads will certainly yield fresh insight and new meaning - the kind of story that invokes that "did I really read this?" moment. In short, a powerful short story that deserves more attention - my candidate to replace - or at least complement - "Tess of the d'Urbervilles" or "A Tale of Two Cites" on high school readers' list of required classics.

It is around 1800. An American sealer on the South Chile coast meets a Spanish slave ship in disarray. Captain Delano from the US ship goes on board the Spaniard and finds things rather disorganized, to say the least. The Spanish captain is not well. His story is about storms and scurvy and fever, which decimated most of the whites and many of the blacks on board and destroyed most of the boats that the ship had. Delano is of best intentions and tries to help, but in the course of time begins to have grave doubts about honesty and capability of the Spaniard, while he is positively impressed by the behaviour of the blacks on the ship.

Finally we find out that the Spaniard has been a hostage all along, that the slaves have mutinied and taken the ship, killing most of the whites in the process.
The US ship overwhelms the mutinous ship and takes it to Peru, where the mutiny survivors are put to trial.

The narration has two parts: the experience of the American captain boarding the mutinous ship without understanding what happens on it, and then the recapitalution 'what really happened' mainly via the court deposition of the title hero Benito Cereno, who is the Spanish captain.

I would like to put aside all considerations of the moral question whether a mutiny of slaves on a transport ship is the same as a mutiny of sailors. Obviously not, and I see no need to go into this aspect further. Of course the narration takes us in on the side of the slave owners. Leave it at that, it is history.

The fascinating part of the story is the first one, when we follow Delano in his blind attempt at understanding what is happening on the ship in distress. He sees what he sees with the eyes of his personal expectations and prejudices. He is an optimist who likes to see the good side in people. Hence he is happy about the jolly good behaviour of the blacks on the ship. He is disappointed in the less than virile stance of the Spaniard. He never even half suspects the truth. Rather he thinks that the captain may be a pirate in collaboration with the black population on board.
This story is a deeply pessimistic one. We can not understand the world. Our benevolent assumptions are likely to be disappointed. The truth is worse than we can expect. Sunshine is an illusion.

Neither prude nor prig nor fop, the gentleman is the true knight and the true lover, a classic combination of strength and selflessness, contemplation, correct action and, yes...cool.

He is the aristocrat not of wealth or birth, but of virtue.

Other men, as well as women, instinctively admire him. But they may not realize why they are drawn to him, for he never calls attention to his own virtues or strengths.

He will take a stand to defend the true and the good and the beautiful. But he knows that taking a stand is very different from making a show. Making a show is not cool.

Miner is too wise in the ways of young men to think they will respond to a lecture or another guidebook on which fork to use or how to keep your bowtie from spinning. (Of course, the gentleman's bowtie does not spin -- cool presumes competent!)

Instead he tells us a story, a story of an ideal and the men throughout history who have tried -- always imperfectly -- to live up to it.

Miner traces the concept of manliness from the jousting fields of the twelfth century to the decks of Titanic. The three masculine archetypes that emerge -- the warrior, the lover and the monk or scholar -- combine in the character of the "compleat gentleman": the warrior for truth and beauty; the lover whose passion exemplifies his respect for women; the man of disciplined mind who knows he must be able to discern truth if he is to defend it.

And finally, Miner shows us that the true gentleman always practices these virtues with the discretion, decorum and nonchalance that the Renaissance called sprezzatura and we call cool.

Essential guide for the would-be gentleman

I have recommended this book to all sorts of men (and women) as a guide for those who wish to be (or wish to live with) a gentleman. It would be a terrific life-long gift for a young man about to begin making his way in the world. Brad Miner has written what deserves to be a new classic. This is not a book for the "macho man." Although it does recommend that a man should know how to fight (and be willing to do so) when necessary, it is also very clear that a gentleman is one who recognizes when it is not necessary. It is not a book for the "metrosexual" either; it will not tell you how to dress because, contrary to popular wisdom, clothes do not make the man. Someone who wishes to be a "dandy" can learn to look the part, but this is a book about living the part. A knight (the author's model gentleman) is a collection of specific virtues, not a suit of armor and a sword. I expect to re-read this book several times over the next few years because I am sure there are things I missed the first time through. Like many classics, reading it is like peeling an onion. Each reading will, I expect, reveal new layers of meaning and bring new insights. My very great thanks to Mr. Miner, for a marvelous bit of work!

I purchased the book as a gift for my husband. He loved the book as it upholds many of the traditional principles he strives to live by. If your idea of a gentleman is the pacifist wimp who hides his cowardice behind a facade of tolerance this book is definitely not for you. This is a book for real men, upright, chivalrous, and strong. It is an excellent piece of work and is an ideal gift for young men who aspire to be the best they can be.
